Project Description (page last updated August 17, 2010)
The Geysers Geothermal Field is home to the largest group of geothermal power plants in the world and is the location of the first commercial geothermal plant in the United States. There are currently 18 geothermal power plants operating in the region. The present generation of the entire region's resources is 900 MW.
Ram Power's Geysers Project is located on over 3,700 acres, approximately 12 miles north of the city of Healdsburg. It is within the older, larger Geysers Geothermal Field which has produced commercial geothermal power since the early 1960s. Sixty percent of the production wells have been drilled for the Geysers Project and major permits have been issued. In addition, a 20 year PPA has been signed with the Northern California Power Agency.
